On the 28th December 2012 I photographed Sarah and Andrew’s Christmas wedding. The ceremony took place at the church in Welford and then the reception was at the former 17th century Coaching Inn, Highgate House in Creaton, Northamptonshire.
There is something so special about December weddings, the light, the rich colours and the cold air that encourages all the guests to stay snuggled inside listening to music and drinking mulled wine. Kirsty and Jonny had chosen Holdenby House to be the setting for their intimate family wedding which was so befitting for their Bird theme since this is home to all the greats, Eagles, Falcons, Hawks and Owls. From Elizabethan England’s greatest mansion to Royal Palace and prison, Holdenby has a unique place in English history.
What a privilege it was to be photographing a wedding in such an inspiring place.
